The first ever Lake Greenwood Cleanup Blitz helped Keep Greenwood County Beautiful (KGCB) receive National and Statewide recognition. Keep Greenwood County Beautiful was awarded the Arm & Hammer Essentials Award for the greatest number of miles of shorelines cleaned up in a single event.

All school groups, church groups, and youth groups, and concerned citizens are encouraged to participate in the cleanup on Saturday, March 13, 2010. We are seeking volunteers with boats to assist in clean up of the shoreline as well. (All boating rules and regulations apply.)

The event begins at 8:00 a.m. and concludes with a volunteer lunch at 11:30 a.m. Volunteers will receive t-shirt and lunch and will be entered into prizes drawings. During the 2010 Great American Cleanup, KGCB will be encouraging all organizations to collect PET (plastic bottles) bottles for recycling.
